This is the story which I produced for the recent Foundry Photojournalism workshop, held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. I was fortunate enough to have Paula Bronstein and James Whitlow Delano as my instructors. My initial idea had been to try and photograph people in Sarajevo with the weapons, both real and improvised, which the kept hidden in their homes after the siege ended. Andrej was my contact and did an incredible job of getting us access into places which should have taken months or years to get into. However, it quickly became clear that there was a far more important and and interesting story to be told about Andrej himself and the sentiments and concerns that he and a lot of his fellow Sarajevans have about the state of their country today. I will be returning to Bosnia in the future to continue working with Andrej and others like him. http://www.jonathanclifford.com
